I Just Called To Say THANK YOU - Just An Appreciation Post - Women Supporting Women, With No Strings Attached And Can We Stop The Bitching Please

ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: the time has come for women to support women - no bitching, just love

The time has now come for action, women supporting women in practice, not just talk. I'm sitting here tonight extremely grateful after last night event where I was fortunate to talk about my book in front of a group of amazing women and share some love. When I was asked to speak at the event by Stacey Chan, she talked to me about Platform pop-up concept, a collective of independent designers committed to slow fashion and ethical production, working with small factories in limited runs. The Pop Up Store in Marylebone Village, beside the gorgeous clothes and bags and jewellery and scarves and so on, appealed to me as it is manly women designers, working as a collective ( everybody knows everyone's products and sells everything in the store not just their own merchandise)and it so reflects what I so strongly believe in women supporting women. And for me, it is not just talking, it is action and so I couldn't say no. Support means actual support not 'I'm with you in spirit sister' and then look away. It also means no harsh criticism, putting other women down - oooh, she is soo thin.... look at those shoes, ... is she pregnant? she has a pouch...... STOP IT!!! So this is an appreciation post, for the women last night who showed up to my talk, for Stacey for inviting me, and for all women out there - Thank You! Quit bitching, start thanking and supporting...
