What Does It Mean To Be In Charge Of Your Career? Common Sense Is Not Always That Common

The PeopleAlchemist Edit: change & transformation, business & lifestyle experimentation for TheWomanAlchemist - What does it mean to be in charge of your career?

What does being in charge of your career means? In the "old days", people depended on their boss for a promotion. Now you can own your career. If you want to progress, you can build an evidence-based portfolio to show how you can add value to the business you are working in. You can create your luck. Research shows that successful people often do the necessary groundwork to make the right conditions for their success. They spot opportunities and, even better, create them. And that often means having fewer expectations and being more active. Instead of pointing the finger at everything wrong and/or waiting for someone to give you what you need, get creative and productive. Build relationships, and find advocates. Take new projects on. With the right attitude, most roadblocks can be redirected. The most important thing is that "change starts from within". Be clear about what you want and why. Then plan your next steps. Finally, implement the plan. I know it sounds like common sense, but you'd be surprised how common sense is not that common.
