What Is The Power Of First Impressions? According to Malcolm Gladwell in Blink: The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking people make up their minds when they meet someone for the first time instantaneously. Two seconds is all it takes. Imagine that? Research also suggests that first impressions can be more powerful and believable than fact. Take food manufacturing as an example. Many factories are producing products (of famous labels and white labels for supermarkets' own brands) with the exact same specification/recipe. The only thing that is different is the label applied at the end of the production line. The label firstly drives the marketing. Secondly our perception of value both in a sense of quality (of the product). And finally also what buying certain brands says about us. How we perceive ourselves. Or like to be perceived. Are you aware of what you are projecting right now? Is this aligned to how you'd like to be perceived (in your career/ in your life)? What first impression you'd like people to have of you?

THE POWER OF FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Think about the new you and the position/s you are aiming at (in your career). What style can help you to project this? And looks good on you (body type-colouring-best features etc.) whilst being congruent and authentic with your personality AND putting your best foot forward? Scroll through Instagram, Pinterest, look through some magazines. Look up some women you admire and create your own mood board. After which you can start pulling together your new image. And a capsule wardrobe that is consistent and goes seamlessly from business to leisure. An image that is aligned to how you want to be seen. And makes you feel confident.
