The PeopleAlchemist Edit: #theWomanAlchemist #Feature #womanofthemonth
Be you. Be All In. Fall. Get Up. Try Again.
Welcome to another #WomanOfTheMonth feature post, this month covering Brené Brown.
Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston and a visiting professor in management at The University of Texas.
She has focused her studies on understanding courage, vulnerability, shame and empathy. She's the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers and the host of the
Unlocking Us podcast.
She has also filmed a lecture on Netflix,
The Call to Courage, the first-ever for a researcher.
These all great achievements and examples for other women, to show them what is possible to achieve. But what resonates with me particularly is her overall main message, that walking through vulnerability is the only path to courage. In my "Self-experimentation blog #SmashYourCeiling to #SmashThatCeiling, I've been covering moving from Self-acceptance to Self-appreciation to Be Your Best Self. Your Authentic Best Self.
I am incredibly passionate about helping other women to break through barriers limiting their personal and professional fulfilment, starting from their own beliefs’ system and supporting and sharing other women's accomplishments and stories.
Brené work (and herself) is a total inspiration to me. I know it will be for you too.
BE YOU. BE ALL IN. FALL.
If you to get to know Brené Brown and her work a bit more, and you should, these are three pivotal books to start with. They should be read in this order ( Brown advises so herself) as they build on each other:
- The Gifts of Imperfection
- Daring Greatly
- Rising Strong.

"The Gifts of Imperfection" is a book that engages the mind, heart, and spirit in how we can cultivate courage, compassion, and connection with our true self.
How to wake up in the morning and think, "You know what? No matter what is done or not, I am enough".
And how to go to bed at night thinking, "Yes, I am brave despite my fears. Yes, I am imperfect and vulnerable, but I am worthy".
BE YOU
Available on
Amazon.

"Daring Greatly" is a book about facing change and taking risks.
It is a book challenging the old paradigm that vulnerability is weakness.
Brené Brown argues that vulnerability is, on the contrary, strength, and when we shut ourselves off from revealing our true selves, we distance ourselves from our true purpose and meaning and all experiences that come with that.
BE ALL IN.
Available on
Amazon.
"Rising Strong" is a book about owning your story, no matter the disappointment, failure, and heartbreak and what to do about it.
You can take the power back and write a new ending.
FALL. GET UP. TRY AGAIN.
Available on
Amazon.
