In this lesson, Grout uses the analogy of reality TV to explain the lesson and talks about one time when she interviewed the runner-up of the Reality TV show The Bachelor: the bachelorette was very clear that is anything but reality. People are cast to fit a certain type and then the only scenes shown are the ones that 'feed' and promote that specific character/type - nothing else. We do the same in our own life - we edit our life experiences to fit the stories we make up, whatever they happened to be at that time. Our brain carefully edits and cuts, edits and cuts so as to re-enforce what we thought in the first place. Plus the more we edit, our focus brings more to us anyway - like a magnet - and that's a bummer!!!
