Hello there, and Happy Monday. I hope you followed my advice for the weekend and took yourself on a date. A nighttime date or a daytime playdate, seeing the latest movie ( PS: have you seen 'Elvis'? Non? Go, it's great). Or perhaps you went out for lunch but yourself, in a fancy restaurant. Bought yourself flowers. So what did you do? If your answer is nothing, why, oh why? You can start to satisfy your needs AND learn to really know what you like this way, so when the time comes for you to be in a couple again if you so wish, you'll do so from a place of contentment and not a place of lack. Try it. Trust me. I have, however, received quite a few questions/comments about going to weddings/ family occasions by yourself and how awkward you feel about it. Being asked the same stupid questions about being single blah blah blah ... You are tired of being your own plus one in a sea of couples. What do I have to say about that? Relish in your freedom of singlehood.

RELISH IN YOUR FREEDOM

That's right. Relish in your freedom. Hear me out. When you are in a couple, you normally have things you like to do that the other doesn't. Like you love love love dancing all night, and he/she doesn't. You love to catch up with Aunti Nellie and he /she is bored to tears. Or you want to go excuse yourself and go home early, and he/she is a party animal. Well, problem solves. You can do whatever you want. W-H-A-T-E-V-E-R! And W-H-E-N-E-V-E-R with W-H-O-E-V-ER. Isn't that grand? Make the most of everything you like to do at weddings/events etc. With no guilt feelings trying to compromise for someone else. And yes, you are going to have some awkward questions about your singlehood. Hey, it's your family; there is no return policy, I'm afraid. Find an answer that is sweet, simple and quick and swiftly move on with some segway. And if you are at a friend's event, they know you are single. Remember, though: the world around you reflects what you think about yourself, and how you see yourself. So if you think you are going to feel awkward, then you'll have plenty of opportunities to feel so. Go with the right attitude that you are fine as wine and you are going to have a great time and look for opportunities to have a great time. I know it sounds simple because, in the majority of cases, it is. See you tomorrow x #BeYourBestSelf #Singlehood #RelishInYourFreedom #Followme on Twitter and Instagram
