Hello everyone and welcome back! Practice makes perfect. The adage is one of life’s unyielding truths – the more you do something, the better you become at doing it. A truth that is, undoubtedly, vital when it comes to building self-resilience. We have spent the last month delving into self-resilience in detail and the power of self-resilience cannot be denied. Being present in the face of change, especially with us overcoming the change in our lives, whether it be the pandemic, a shift in our relationships or even a new career path is exactly why building resilience in oneself is essential. Today, we will briefly revisit some of the more important lessons of self-resilience as we continue our self-reflection journey.

A refresher on building resilience

As you already know, self-resilience is among the most difficult of all our lessons. Resilience, essentially, becomes our shield and our sword – to protect us from the negativity of self-doubt, destructive criticism, and general toxicity. We looked at five ways to becoming more resilient, and those ways are:
  1. Developing coping mechanisms
  2. Don’t sweat the small stuff
  3. Help others
  4. Be realistic
  5. Work on improving your emotional intelligence
On delving into the waters of reflection, sometimes those waters are crystal clear, sometimes not, we look at our lives and how far we have come. Have we implemented these ways into our lives? Everyone’s answer is different – I don’t at all expect a resounding yes from everyone. Remember that it is not about pleasing me as if I am a scolding teacher – no, all that I am is a guide to assist you on your journey to smash your glass ceiling. Self-reflection, and the lessons I give, is entirely about you. And the biggest step to transformation is honesty – especially with oneself. So, have you started building your resilience? You know your answer to that. We will take a more personal look at self-resilience in our next blog post. For now, think long and hard – reflect – on where you are on your journey. And even though I am no schoolteacher, that is your homework for today. See you soon x
