Hello there, it's Day 5 of 7 Day challenge: how are you feeling today? And yes, that was a trick: by the nature of this challenge I'd only expect to hear a "fabulous" in return ;-) . Jokes apart, unless you live on a deserted island, alone, without any internet connection (let's face it, unlikely to say the least) and without anybody bringing you groceries (and then, perhaps you'd find things to bitch about like hunting or growing your own food is hard), negative things are going to happen. It is the cycle of life. Change is inevitable; actually change is the only constant. Negative thoughts are not just thoughts that are not positive or constructive in character, whether about/toward yourself or others, but also thoughts that stop you from growing and learning. Think about it; you rarely find solutions to problems from the same mental attitude that created the problem in the first place. You need a new point of view.

SO WHAT?

If there is one thing that 2020 should have taught us all, is that you can't control life, you cant control negative things happening around you. You can control however what they MEAN to you and what YOU are going to do about it. I don't mean here ignore the pandemic and/or don't follow medical advice. Nope. I mean remember that life is FOR you, not against you, and use what comes as an opportunity to grow and learn. The largest amount of millionaires in the U.S. was created during the Great Depression. Ditto during COVID, many businesses took the opportunity, re-invented themselves and thrived. This is applicable to you too, in your personal life, in the quest toward your Best Self. If you need some real-life examples, here they are:
  • Oprah Winfrey was raped as a child by a family member ( I don't think I need to explain what she has achieved)
  • Bethany Hamilton had her arm bitten by a shark. She won first place in the Explorer Women's Division of NSSA National Championship
  • Kris Carr was diagnosed with a rare and incurable Stage IV cancer; she refused to accept it and attacked her cancer with a new lifestyle and therapy. She is now one of the most prominent experts in healthy living and has been well over ten years cancer-free.
So, on Day 5 of 7 Day Challenge say "so what?" to whatever negative that is happening around you and ask: "What can I learn from this? What opportunity can come from this?". Life is happening FOR you, not against you. See you tomorrow for Day 6 x The Challenge Recap:
  1. Dump The C**p On A Page
  2. No More News
  3. The 90 Seconds Rule
  4. Pause
