Hello again, and Happy Friday. I want to finish the week by pondering on a quote I recently read somewhere from Julia Cameron: "Jealousy is a road map".

JEALOUSY IS A ROAD MAP

Julia Cameron is the author of The Artist Way, the book that provides endless inspiration and guidance to writers and non-writers alike. I am definitely one of her many fans, and I have adopted into my life two of her practices: morning pages and the artist date. What she said about jealousy is a great point. We tend to view jealousy as a non-quality or, better still, a defect. Instead, we should look at it as a sign. It is a sign that there is something that we would like to have, be or do but we have not explored yet, and therefore we resent it when we see others taking action over it. Jealousy is communicating to you, me and everybody who wants to listen your deepest needs/ and wants. Do not ignore it. Acknowledge it, and then see what you can do about it. Firstly recognise that you can be, do or have anything you want. Secondly, you need to decide that you do want whatever it is. Finally, and most importantly, you need to understand what has been stopping you. Remember what I talked about yesterday? The Inner Critic talking to you, telling you you can't do this or that, you are not good enough etc. etc. Well, it is fear talking; say thank you and tell it to shut up. And then, go and conquer the world. Have a lovely weekend, see you Monday x #BeYourBestSelf #Jealousy #Followme on Twitter and Instagram

Hi there, I hope you enjoyed this post. Please do provide me with feedback.

I want to hear ‘the good, the bad and the ugly’. If you disagree with me or want to provide a different perspective, leave a comment. Tell me what’s on your mind.

Do remember though to be respectful and kind – we can agree to disagree, no need to be nasty. Thank you.
