Health first, always, the first step to being your Best Self ( if there's one crucial lesson of the global pandemic, this is it!). We have been talking about self-acceptance and body positivity. Now it is time to focus on the fundamentals after clearing the path with EFT to remove the deep-rooted block of programmed beliefs and emotions related to your appearance/body. Health is the centre of life and plays a critical role in various areas of our lives. It determines how you perform daily in all your activities, in both your personal and professional life.HEALTH FIRST, ALWAYS, THE FIRST STEP TO BE YOUR BEST SELF
Feeling good with your body/appearance is essential. After all, you take it wherever you go. But your body requires a balance between mental, spiritual or emotional layers in equal measure. With good physical health, the body will perform well. The absence of disease, however, does not mean your body is at its peak: it needs movement, adequate rest and good nutrition, muscular strength, body composition and flexibility and so on. Mental health, which is not just the absence of depression and anxiety, refers to the person's social, emotional and psychological well-being. Mental and physical health have a strong relationship and can affect each other and, when the two are in tune, it helps to develop resilience and prepare your body and mind to fight every illness that come your way. When approaching heath is therefore necessary to look at it broadly and not as a separate function. An overall healthy lifestyle decreases the chance of disease. Maintaining overall wellness entails many things like:- Good nutrition (not diets)
- Regular movement ( it doesn't mean killing yourself in the gym, walking is moving ;-) )
- Regular checkups for early screening for diseases
- Manage stress - know your triggers
- Feed your soul and mind with activities that add value to your life
- Connecting with like-minded people
Checkups worth having (especially for women):
- Blood pressure
- Total cholesterol
- Blood glucose
- Bone density
- Eye health
- Pap smear
- Mammogram
- Dental checkup/oral hygiene
- Skin health/ new or changed moles
- CRP (inflammation in the body)
