Gratitude is the single most important well-being activity that increases positive emotions plus levels of stress hormones, anxiety and loneliness, even during turbulent times.In the last few days, we talked about how our brain has a negativity bias, our in-built survival mechanism residual from when we were living in caves when staying alive depended on recognising dangers and running. Well, we haven't changed that much, and we still follow the same pattern. However, this doesn't serve us, in general, and even less when it comes to practising self-love. There is an abundance of small seemingly insignificant things to be grateful for - whether it is physical attributes or behaviours, knowledge, skills, even if it is just making a damn good cup of tea instead of looking only for the big-ticket items and waiting to be perfect before we are thankful and celebrate (perfectionitis is a terrible disease).
