In the original Course In Miracles book, Lesson 12 is: I am upset because I see a meaningless world. Interestingly Grout deviates and Lesson 12 To A Miraculous Life says instead: I get whatever I focus upon. There is a very interesting and insightful story on how we look at the world producing the outcome (e.g. how the world responds to us). I'm not going to tell you the story ( hey, this is my diary AND I want you to read the book and try it yourself;-p ). The story resonated with me in so many ways (when people ask me where I'm from); normally I get very irritated but now - now I know that the reactions/what I get are based on my (unconscious or maybe conscious) expectation. OK then: I get whatever I focus upon, I get whatever I focus upon, I get whatever I focus upon... Once you really understand this, you're in control - try it - it's liberating.
