Hello there and welcome back to "Happiness Week"! Yesterday we talked about happiness requires daily focus and practice. To start I think you need to take stock and count your blessings.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

Why? To start any practice you need some encouragement, motivation, something to spur you on. And counting your blessings will do just that. Start writing down (best) or go through mentally every single thing that you have ever had, ever achieved, every nice/good/amazing experience in your life, and all the people in your life that you can have a good time with, talk to, that love you. Count your blessings. It doesn't matter how "bad" your life might be right now, you have memories of good times and good things. STACK THEM UP! I'm a visual person and a great tool for me is a "blessings jar" e.g. I write my happy moments, and what I am grateful for in little notes and then put them in a jar. When/if I have a down moment I can look at the jar and re-read one ( or two) of the many great things in my life. It is easy to lose perspective when you are down and this brings me back into a positive focus. And then, if necessary re-look at your list of blessings until they sink in. If your life right now sucks, then know that it is possible for you to change it ( and now you have evidence in front of you that you had happy times). On the other hand, if your life is ok, you know it can be better. If instead, your life is amazing, be grateful and continue on the path and know it can get even better. Life is a journey and every day we determine its direction. See you tomorrow for some more happiness talk x #BeYourBestSelf #Happiness
