Positive self-body perception and confidence result from inner self-belief and confidence., but how to clear the path to self-acceptance? Yes, losing a bit of weight might make us feel better, temporarily, but then ... And there is always a "then". No amount of dieting or creams and potions we use to smooth those wrinkles can stop the ugly. Neither can more drastic cosmetic procedures. Because it is never just about the weight, the skin, the hair or blah blah blah ... You see, all these things are fixes for the symptoms, not the cause. Behind lack of self-body perception and self-acceptance lurks the inner critic nagging, "You are not good enough". Therefore "You don't deserve" the job, the love, the money, whatever. And this is where the mind-body connection resurfaces because, that's right, it all starts from the mind. The body is just the external embodiment of this inner struggle. Change starts from within. Feeling good with your body/appearance is essential. After all, we take our body wherever we go.


One thing I found to be particularly effective to clear individual deep-rooted blocks is EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). Your subconscious is an aggregation of all your programmed beliefs and emotions related to your appearance/body, which has become the absolute truth. It is not logical, I know. And the more emotional baggage, the more likely you are to be resistant to losing weight. To work on yourself, etc. EFT, better known as Tapping, is one of the most powerful and effective mind/body techniques for clearing emotional blocks. There are clinical trials on its efficacy for PTSD, anxiety and phobias. Tapping uses the principles of acupuncture to heal emotions, and this is the starting point. Fancy giving it a go?
