Hello there, and Happy Monday. Last week I reflected on my feelings regarding the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, and I shared with you my immediate thoughts. Beyond my initial reflections, I found that I learned a bit more about myself, and it was a welcome surprise.

BE EMOTIONAL: SOMETIMES IT IS GOOD TO CRY

I learned to be emotional and feel good about it. Let me explain. I will start by saying that I do not normally cry or show my feelings. I am very passionate, but I channel my passion into things I am interested in and want, which manifests as drive, focus, discipline, goals, and going all in. But I was never someone who cried easily. Well, last week, I was like a fountain, never0edning flow of tears every time there was some talk about the Queen. With 24-hour coverage for ten days, you can understand I cried a lot. I don't know how much was about Her specifically, her passing, or just emotions that found a way out. It was a mix of expressing grief whilst releasing previously accumulated tension, frustration and so on. And this week, I feel lighter somehow; who knew?

ALWAYS CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS

However, what I didn't do, and I don't advise, suggest or encourage anyone to ever let go of their control over their thoughts. E-V-E-R. Affirm/think only what you want to see, through your tears if you want. But don't let your emotions spiral and take over. Emotions are the expression of ingrained past thoughts that took hold. Sometimes just thinking about a past event triggers an emotional response and takes you back to either a good or bad place, depending on the memory. Everything can happen in just a minute. You are what you think. How do you feel about crying? Are you a frequent cryer? Have you tried controlling your thoughts? Let me know your experience in the comments. In the meantime, I wish you a great day and see you tomorrow x #BeYourBestSelf #BeEmotional #ControlYourThoughts #Followme on Twitter and Instagram
