Summer in the city calls for a Summer Festival: Welcome to South Bank and the Underbelly Festival.
I continue vagabonding from village to village, from Islington to Marylebone and now South Bank.
OK, it is not a village in itself, a vibrant area of London which was energised during the 1951 Festival of Britain by the modern architecture of the Southbank Centre, just across the river from the Houses of Parliament, the Royal Festival Hall, Hayward Gallery and Queen Elizabeth Hall.
South Bank stretches between Westminster and London Bridges on the south side of the river, and is perfect for long strolls and much much more.

Food and drinks
Brasserie Joël, a French restaurant located at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London - just minutes from London's South Bank, which holds 2 AA rosettes for culinary excellence. I love their A La Carte menu: favourites of mine their Seared Tuna Loin as a starter and then in the Le Charcoal Grill the Blank Angus Sirloin Steak 10oz (hold the frites for me or the Pan Fried Lemon Sole - J'adore x Bleeker Burgers is the brain-child of founder/owner Zan Kaufman who quit his life as a lawyer in Big Apple and moved to London armed with just an old van converted it into a food truck in 2012 at the beginning of the London street food scene. Bleeker Burgers is an all about the beef, rare-breed pasture-fed dry-aged, from small farms in the UK - Gosh I am salivating as I am writing. And, just for the summer, the return of Jimmy Garcia ( the king of pop-up hospitality) at the Southbank Centre with The BBQ Club an expanded river-side split level extravaganza with walk-up BBQ Bar ( the speedy dishes and cocktails) and the rooftop restaurant ( a reservation only interactive 6-course rooftop dining concept with a private bar). And each Monday night there are guest chefs and butchery classes.Entertainment/culture
