ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: Explore the City in the Summer - Islington & Exmouth Market
Hello again, week 2 of my Summer in the city edit - the intimate travel blog to explore part of London like a Londoner ( well at the moment it doesn't feel much like Summer with the pouring rain and the temperature below seasonal averages but hey, you create your own reality and we can still feel like Summer and have fun, non? On y VA... This week I'd like to show you around Exmouth Market, a one-time run-down area whose old warehouses and factories were colonised by publishing, design, and architecture firms in the 1990s and now one of London’s most desirable and enchanting little quarter with a very trendy vibe. The highly pedestrianised street is full of stylish independent businesses including some of the area’s most appealing restaurants and places to drink.
There are many and which restaurant or bar you try will depend greatly on your personal taste and inclination on the day; whatever it is, you will be spoilt for choice and you can always come back and try something else next time. Here are some of my tried and tested below.
Recommendations this week:

Exmouth Arms, a very traditional pub (and cocktails). Need I say more? ;-p
Botanique, a lovely artisan store and flower shop born from owner Alice's dream of creating a shop combining flowers & plants with a meticulously curated collection of handcrafted products. It is a flower shop AND a workshop where you can see how their products are made, and by whom! Plus they have a curated collection of like-minded, independent British designers and makers, who are based almost exclusively in London. Hello?? Can I feel a visit coming on?
