An evening at Le Boudin Blanc

ThePeopleAlchemist Edit`; My Best Meal London - Mayfair

The Alchemist (Moi ) goes About Town to find places to eat for both business and pleasure for you lovelies readers , and this month I bring to you Le Boudin Blanc, "A Bit of Paris in Mayfair" as the New York Times calls it. In line with french tradition, seasonal produce is at the heart of the menu, sourced directly from local producers either in England, France, or the rest of Europe. This is French classics cuisine/repertoire at its best but with a modern touch sprinkled here and there. I have eaten here several times, for lunch, dinner, after drinks, etc... and I loved it each and every time ( and the extremely generous portions). Le Boudin Blanc is located a short walking distance from Green Park tube station and the main road but as soon as you venture in you are transported in charming and picturesque alleyways - an oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle of city life, where leisurely business lunches are de riguer here together with some people watching ( literally speaking if you seat outside on the pavement). Eating al fresco and watching the world go by with nice food and wine is one of the best past-times - try it on a day off during the week - priceless. The staff welcoming is warm and the service excellent with perfect timing both for serving/clearing and giving enough attention to the diners but not to much to feel intrusive. I have tried many dishes and loved them all but I'm particularly fond of dans Les Entrées of Escargots de Bourgogne persillés (snails with garlic and parsley butter) and Moules marinières à la crème (mussels with white wine, shallots, parsley and cream); dans Les Poissons I love Sole de Douvres grille, beurre Maître d'hôtel (grilled Dover sole). Sorry, I can't really choose amongst the meats, Je les adore tous: you must, however, try the Côte de beau grille et son os à moelle, jus et beurre Maître d’hôtel (grilled rib of veal, roasted marrow bone, shallots, lemon, and parsley butter) - super yummy - and Confit de joues de porch, Jésus de Morteau, poi trine de porch fumée et cassoulet de haricots coco (confit of pork cheeks, smoked sausage, pork belly cooked in a jar with tomatoes coco beans ) - very filling and comforting. Booking online is easy, simple, and efficient and the menu is in French and in English so no need to feel intimidated. So if you can't go to Paris for a short trip but love anything french, why don't you try it? Le menu est un délice et le personnel très charmant et accueillant, on y va?
