What is the best way to beat the fear of failure and start living your best life? "To Do Or Not To Do? To Try Or Not To Try? Conquering Fear = Defining Fear" - Tim Ferris, The 4-Hour Work Week.
The Longer You Avoid Your Fears, The Bigger They Become - Face them!
Our mind is an amazing tool that can conceive the most amazing things; it can also create a reality-based solely on perception, often negative, which paralyses us from making any decisions and moving towards our best life.
The reality is when you start facing your fears, and they are not as big as you thought they were - most things never actually happen. And when they happen, if they do, they are not this life-shattering-never-again-things but instead opportunities to learn a lesson, a rite of passage, so to speak.
What makes our fears big is not facing them. Which then, in turn, becomes our self-made prison. Fear itself is fear-inducing; most people would choose unhappiness over uncertainty and fear of failure.
Conquering Fear = Defining Fear says Ferriss, and he asks one crucial question which we should all adopt:
'Why don't I decide exactly what my nightmare would be - the worst thing that could happen as a result of .... (fill in with your own)?
And you know what? As soon as you start defining what scares you so much, you can start thinking of possible steps you can take to overcome whatever it might be.
What have you got to lose? Are you better off than you were one year ago, one month ago? Non? Then "Do yourself a favour, man, before you leave this world. Before you die, Jump. Just jump one time. Just Jump" - Steve Harvey
