Networking to develop your career

ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: HR, business, career planning, career development & networking

There are many different ways to develop your career, but networking is frequently overlooked, especially in the permanent employment market. Sometimes who you know is more important than what you know... Firstly keep yourself up to date with what is going on within your industry (or the industry you would like to develop your career in). Then, read articles, newsletters etc. and learn from them. Share your knowledge among your connections. You will be at the forefront of their minds and establish your expertise at the same time. Network with purpose and connect to people and businesses that you can learn from, and you can add value to and them to you. Join industry groups, attend conferences, and participate in forums. You will find people to connect with, which can connect you to others in the industry. Have you got any good tips? Hi there, I hope you enjoyed this post. Please do provide me with feedback.

I want to hear ‘the good, the bad and the ugly’. If you disagree with me or want to provide a different perspective, leave a comment. Tell me what’s on your mind.

Do remember though to be respectful and kind – we can agree to disagree, no need to be nasty. Thank you.
