ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: books can be your best friends, keeping you company and helping you to dream, and your pocket mentors - every page a mini-lesson waiting to be absorbed - #amreading #Thursdays #January

Hello there, and welcome back, my lovely readers and the reading community to another #amreading blog. Last year I read four books every month, a mix between fiction and nonfiction and wrote about my thought on the books in this blog. It has definitely been an experience: it required discipline ( i had to read them and then write about them) and focus, and I learned a lot. However, ongoing, it is not sustainable.

“If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot” – Stephen King.

I mean, I will continue to read for pleasure and personal enlightenment and never-ending learning but, perhaps, not blog about it so religiously.

MY CURRENT BOOKS ON THE GO

My four books on the go at the moment – #amreading #Thursdays #January – are:

#AMREADING #THURSDAYS #JANUARY – MY TWO 'CONSTANTS'

Around the Year with Emmet Fox is a collection of 365 daily mediations/ devotionals made from Emmet Fox’s unpublished lecture notes and manuscripts, and passages from his books. Our consciousness has the size and strength of a sumo wrestler, but because we do not know it, we squander our abilities. That’s why I make training my mind my priority Numero 1, and so should you. To come along for the journey in the new year, follow my #selfshorts blog. This book will be one of my constants this year.
Pam Grout is one of my favourite authors. Making art is simply finding a way to give your inner muse a voice in this world, Grout says. There is a creative project for each week of the fifty-two to help with practising art and putting your muse to work. All you have to do is get the book and start! And this year, I am doing just that, following Art & Soul Reloaded week by week. Creators must create. This book will be my second constant this year, e.g. I will be practising the exercises throughout the year. Maybe I'll come back and tell you how I get along too ;-).

#AMREADING #THURSDAYS #JANUARY – FOR MY PLEASURE

The next two books are writers' reads, and by that, I mean a romance writer reading romance writers/books because I love it.
Things We Never Got Over by Indie SuperStar Lucy Score was the #1 best seller of the Amazon Kindle Store, spent half a year on the USA Today bestseller list, and three months on the New York Times bestseller list. It has been translated into 27 languages around the world! Looking forward to reading this! Before I Let Go by RITA® and Audie® Award winner and USA Today bestselling author Kennedy Ryan is a compelling novel about hope and healing. Can’t wait to lose myself in the story.

What about you? Which books are you reading this month? Let me know of your book recommendations too.
