#AMREADING FEBRUARY

One Year In 52 Books: My Four Books On The Go This Month - #AmReading February

ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: books can be your best friends, keeping you company and helping you to dream, and your pocket mentors - every page a mini-lesson waiting to be absorbed - #amreading February

Hello again, my lovely readers and reading community. I've talked about how much I love love books many times before so I will not bore you again. As a published author I follow Stephen King's advice:" if you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot. There's no way around it". And so I continue with my reading quest.

SOME BENEFITS OF READING

But do you know some of the many other benefits of reading? Not just for writers, that is. Reading different genres helps develop inference, deduction, and a more substantial vocabulary. It builds connections between the spoken and written word. Reading provides enjoyment; it increases attention span and strengthens cognition. Plus provides a safe way of exploring strong emotions. Reading has been proven to keep our minds young, healthy and sharp and develops our imagination. It allows us to dream and think in ways that we would have never been able to before. So this month I'll continue to mix non-fiction/self-help with fiction for maximum benefit. Life is a never-ending journey, with experiments and lessons at every corner and a book to match them - ready?

MY 4 BOOKS ON THE GO THIS MONTH

The average CEO reads 52 books per year - that's one book every week. My four books on the go this month - #amreading February - are:

The first two books are the perfect follow up to last month's books, and build on them, perfect for entrepreneurs and people who love to travel.

The third book Platform is a recommendation from Pam Grout's: a must, especially if you want to be an online entrepreneur/creative and build a platform to share your voice. The last, well, I adore Simone de Beauvoir and the way she talks about old age and how it is viewed in society is touching and painful at the same time.

What about you? What are your books on the go this month?
And here comes so shameless self-promo too: why don't you try my latest novel, Gabrielle? An excellent read if I say so my (and so do the readers).
