Ute Amann–Seidel is the Founder of Fire & Rain Soul Spa, offering holidays for widows and widowers in stunning island locations in Scotland. Fire & Rain was born out of Ute's painful personal story after losing her fiancé suddenly from a heart attack. Through her grief, she found her path to create feel-good breaks in beautiful surroundings for people to be, enjoy themselves as much as possible, and share some of the things that have helped her on her journey. Ute Amann-Seidel uses the vast array of skills gathered in her career as Management Consultant - Project management (Prince2 qualified), monitoring and evaluation, Social impact/ SROI (Social Return on Investment), project development, strategy development, sourcing and applying for funding – to help her customers better. 1. When you were a child, what was your dream job and why? Haha…it was a job I wouldn't fancy now – air hostess! But, it was at a time when air travel still had something glamorous about it, and I loved the idea of travelling around the world for my job. I still love travelling to different countries – but more relaxing! 2. Can you tell me when you started to consider yourself successful? Working life in general:- Managing projects as a senior consultant in a management consultancy….happy clients, and positive feedback from directors told me I must have been doing something right.

5. As Tony Robbins says, "Success leaves clues": what are your daily/weekly habits? I start every day with yoga practice – even if it's just 5 minutes when time is tight. A walk in the beautiful Scottish countryside on most days. 6. What do you think is the most significant barrier to female leadership? Wanting to please others and making ourselves smaller than we are.\WOMEN INSPIRING WOMEN
7. What women inspire you and why? Meryl Streep because I admire her talent and authenticity My sister-in-love Susan (David and I weren't married yet when he died, so we call each other sisters-in-love) for her loving and kind approach to life. 8. What advice would you give to your 16year old self? Make "indestructible self-belief" your mantra and care less what others think. 9. Your instant mindfulness fix… A walk on my own. 10.
