Hello there, and Happy Monday! I want to start the week with some healthy and helpful un-gratitude. Yes, that's right! Learning to be an ungrateful s*d is essential sometimes. Hear me out.

LEARN TO BE AN UNGRATEFUL S*D

We live in a day and age where positivity (e.g. being positive all the time) has reached momentum proportions. Every celebrity out there advocates gratitude as one of the keys to their success. Gratitude this, gratitude that... Don't get me wrong, it is an excellent practice, and I have written a few blogs about it myself. Same with being positive. However, I recognise that 1) being always positive is not realistic and/or possible; 2) sometimes you must let your anger/envy ( whatever it is) out. Yes, I know, last week's blog about trauma, I said that thinking positively can take you out of any state. I stand by that. I am referring to the fact that our persistent thoughts generate emotions; therefore, thinking (not feeling) positively can take you out of any state. So, when you feel ungrateful/angry/envious, acknowledge whatever negative emotion you are experiencing. Then, write it down (you should know by now I am a great advocate of journaling and morning pages, e.g. dump the c**p on a page first thing in the morning). Write down all the things that make you miserable, annoyed, envious etc. etc. When they are down, firstly, they are out of your system. Secondly, you can see what you can change and start directing your focus towards that. Finally, you can begin to make peace with things you cannot change or ignore them from your reality . Either way, you are in charge. Change starts from within. See you tomorrow x #BeYourBestSelf #BeUngrateful
