Hello again. Yesterday we talked about stopping blaming ourselves for others' behaviour, for external events. And today we are taking it a step forward. We are not responsible for people's responses to our actions either. Think about that. People react (or overreact) depending on their paradigms, their inner conversations and past experience. The majority of the time, their reaction has nothing to do with you (or me). Just them. So stop people-pleasing. What I mean by people-pleasing is doing or saying things only because you are afraid of the reaction you might get. So you go to events or do things even though is not what you really want. Or need. Do not feel guilty because you want to prioritise your needs and wants. It is OK to look after yourself and put yourself first. As long as you are saying "No" in a respectful manner, it is OK. You don't need to justify yourself either. But perhaps you could offer an alternative to people's requests. Like "I can't right now. I can ...". Remember, we are trying to become our Best Selves, not our Best Everybody. See you tomorrow x

Hi there, I hope you enjoyed this post. Please do provide me with feedback.

I want to hear ‘the good, the bad and the ugly’. If you disagree with me or want to provide a different perspective, leave a comment. Tell me what’s on your mind.

Do remember though to be respectful and kind – we can agree to disagree, no need to be nasty. Thank you.
