ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: Appreciation's reflection - Be your best self - #SmashYourCeiling, change starts from within -Business & Lifestyle Experimentation for #TheWomanAlchemist

Hello everyone! Welcome back! Ready to #SmashYourCeiling? Before we begin, answer this: What is self-appreciation to you? Earlier in the year, we looked at self-appreciation. And, in light of this month, I felt it best as through the self-reflection journey, we have touched on discipline and how it is a vital part of self-love. We have also reflected on self-love and by touching on the love-languages, we looked at how self-love leads to self-acceptance. Beyond accepting oneself, one must learn an appreciation of self. As you can see, there is a continuous thread, a pathway of sorts that connects our earlier lessons with our current ones. And, as our path to greatness unfolds before us, it is entirely within our control to ensure that this foundation upon which we build our tomorrow is solid.

What is self-appreciation?

Self-appreciation is about valuing who you already are. It is to accept yourself without second-guessing, without judgment, and most certainly, without self-criticism. I have said it a thousand times, these lessons are easier said than done. But let me tell you a secret – the best lessons usually require further action than simply speaking it into reality. It takes practice, tumbles, stumbles, and finally growth. This isn’t an overnight process. An easy-to-do step is to begin by stepping out of your negative thoughts. Negative thoughts erode your value, bit by bit until your self-worth disappears entirely. You are not your thoughts! It helps to write down your thoughts and look at them objectively. Often, you will find that when you do so, you will see that the situation isn’t as bad as you initially thought it to be. As I said before, this takes practice. And, if you haven’t been practicing, now is the best time to start. We will expand on this important topic in our next post. For today, here is a bit of homework for you to do, read up on the importance of journaling and start your journal now. See you soon x
