A disrupted business world

In a disrupted world, what's the new career deal?

ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: what's the new career deal? The Association of Business Psychology for the modern workplace

We are living in a disrupted business world where a job for life is now a distant mirage, and multiple careers and work lifestyles are instead the norms. So what is the new career deal then? Traditional employment is constantly evolving with the 9-5 paradigm almost obsolete whilst the gig economy is on the rise and flexibility, autonomy, and lifestyle are the new priorities. The Association of Business Psychology Conference this year (11-12 October 2018) will cover evidence and best practice around what companies are doing to innovate and shape their HR strategy in light of this new career deal around some key topics ( and workshops too):
  • recruitment and selection;
  • learning and development;
  • health and well being.
As a business transformation/change consultant and writer, I have covered the ever-changing work landscape many times before. To Gig or Not to Gig? - In a digitalised world do we need more Intreprenuers? -Is the business of being an author a pyjama party? and I am super excited to attend (even more so as to press ) especially as the keynote speakers will be:
  • Professor Ivan Robertson, co-founder Robertson-Cooper and Professor University of Manchester;
  • James Bloodworth, author of recently published 'Hired - Six months undercover in low-wage Britain';
  • Emma Jones – Founder Enterprise Nation, No. 10 Government Advisor on small business; and
I can't wait!!! Follow me and watch this space for coverage and more articles on these subjects.
